Together we can stop invasive species in their tracks!
We need your help removing invasive Guinea Grass to make way for native grasses and wildflowers! Guinea Grass is a non-native, invasive grass that outcompetes native plants for critical resources like sunlight, water, and space. Join us for a volunteer work day to learn how to identify, dig up, and remove this invasive plant together.
When: Tuesday, July 23, 2019, 8:30 - 10:00 am
Where: Goose Island State Park. Meet at the Rec Hall.
Bring:
- Work gloves
- Shovels
- Sun protection
- Insect repellant
- Drinking water and/or sports drinks
- Eye protection
- Lightweight pants & long sleeves
- Work boots or old tennis shoes
FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event.
- Event may be cancelled in the case of inclement weather.
