Join us for the basics of watercolor painting and take inspiration from nature!

Sitting by the waters edge is not only be relaxing, it can also be inspiring.  Meet at park ranger at the fishing pier and learn how to mix paint for use in water colors.  Then find your inspiration: the marsh grasses, the soft waves crossing the bay, the fishing pier, sea shells on the shore, colorful saltwater fish, the birds hovering in the air or floating above the water.  There is something for everyone, so let nature speak to you and see where inspiration takes you.

Where:  Day Use Area

Helpful things to bring:  A journal, pencil, a clipboard, and your desired media.  The park will provide tempra paint, and paper for individuals without journals. Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and bring anything that you think you may need: sun screen, hat, or drinking water may all be handy to have.

Goose Island State Park has a day use fee of $5 per person 13 years of age and older, children 12 and under are free.

If you are running late, please call or let office staff know you are planning on attending the program, that way we know to wait for you, or can provide directions to program location. If  there are no participants are present 15 minutes after start time the program may be canceled.
